You can be embarrassed with screen resolution of your desktop programs and Windows as whole (e.g. icons) after Windows 8.1 upgrade and installation. Especially, if you’ve just bought new notebook because of full hd (FHD/1080p) screen resolution, like me.
Desktop display scaling feature is that what Microsoft introduce to help owners of small display devices (10 inch or smaller). The thing is that Windows try to automatically customize scaling for you depending on both the physical size of your device display and its screen resolution. If you are not satisfied with this customization, you can change it manually - fortunately.
To do this just click right button on your Windows 8.1 desktop and chose “Personalise”, then “Display” on the left bottom.
Here you can make items smaller and larger. Smaller means natural, larger means customized for small display devices. So if you want your display to be natural sized in selected screen resolution, choose smaller, click Apply and breathe a sigh of relief. Just a little suprise from Windows 8.1 publisher.
